Weeks 33-34
My husbands birthday, a big proposal, and a new job, There was no lack of excitement these two weeks. It was great to have my sister in town, go on a couple hikes and spend some time outside with the weather turning. Due to all the reasons to celebrate I enjoyed dessert a couple too many times. We were also able to see the baby move my belly externally vs just feeling it. My last week at work, the team threw me a diaper/wipe baby shower. We were in person so it was different from the virtual experience. I was overwhelmed by how many people were willing to come and…

Baby Planning Schedule
After finding out we were pregnant, both Joe and I felt like there was so much to do. At the same time, we didn’t really know what those things were. After reading and some research we made a plan and set some due dates for ourselves. We wanted this time during pregnancy to feel enjoyable, not overwhelming. We made a plan to space out the major tasks that we were anticipating. I love stationary so I started with a cute target calendar, Trimester 1 Month 1: Weeks 1 to 4 Month 2: Weeks 5 to 8 Month 3: Weeks 9 to 13 Trimester 2 Month 4: Weeks 14 to 17 Month 5: Weeks 18…

Weeks 31-32
We are getting closer, and I could tell because I was feeling big and awkward moving about. We started to put things together to pack a hospital bag, and discussing visitor preferences. We were also still catching up on our prenatal classes and busy at work trying to wrap up my old job to prep for the new role I accepted at 30 weeks pregnant. I also ran a mile, to prove I could, and received my second COVID Vaccine. Joe and I had been debating the topic of visitors for a while. When is the best time to have them come, before the baby or after the baby?. We…

Weeks 29-30
Just a couple weeks into my third trimester started I started to settle in and things started falling into place. Although I was 30 weeks pregnant I received a new job offer. We also continued to take birthing classes and my parents came down for a visit. We ordered a bunch of items to prep for birth. The breast pump I got through insurance came in the mail this week. I pulled it out and realized that I have never seen/ have no idea how to use a breast pump. Not one of the books or even the breastfeeding class showed or talked about how to use a breast pump.…

Weeks 27-28
Hey trimester three, I cannot believe you are here already! During these two weeks Joe and I did the majority of our baby shopping, I had a couple awesome finds on Facebook marketplace, and we received more information on my abnormal glucose levels. We also took four online birthing courses. Even though I was not gaining weight, my body shape changed rapidly. Lastly we were also a couple weeks into the new year and I wanted to set some goals. After the baby shower and speaking with my trusted advisee’s of mom friends I had a list of things that they found helpful and recommended. Every baby has different preferences,…

Weeks 25-26
We made it to Wisconsin, Joe did an amazing job of driving through snow for hours to get us there. This week was jammed packed with two Christmas celebrations, and my sisters threw me a virtual Baby Shower! We had made the decision to only see immediate family on our trip home. We wanted to limit COVID exposure as much as possible. When we came back home I had a COVID scare, job interviews, and was focusing on no sugar/carbs. Even though researching delivery/ birthing options was on my list of things to do, this was a reality check for me. I listened to my first birthing story and realized…

Weeks 23-24
Within these two weeks, pregnancy started picking up. Joe felt the baby kick, I started having my first burdensome pregnancy symptom – GERD, we finalized names, and I took the glucose screening at my doctors visit. Christmas was at the end of week 24 and we were ready for a trip home to Wisconsin. I decided to switch from posting monthly to every two weeks. As we get closer to the 3rd trimester, pregnancy is getting more eventful. Since the moment I could feel the baby move, I was asking Joe to feel my stomach to see if he could feel. For the longest time he would let me know…

Weeks 21-22
I can feel life! I was finally able to feel Baby B move. I actually feel pregnant and am thriving off of each movement I feel. During these two weeks I realized that I needed to start preparing for birth. This came as somewhat of a shock. In my head I have always skipped this over and thought I would be pregnant then come home with a baby. I didn’t really think about birth, how to prepare, and how to become informed. I also developed a pregnancy style, since I was not able to squeeze into my regular clothes anymore. Every once and a while I feel like I am…

Weeks 17-20
Hey Baby B, please kick harder, move more, let me feel you. Any day now I should have been able to feel the baby kick. After all, it was the size of an ear of corn or a whole banana. How could it be possible that I still felt nothing? During these four weeks I gained all the weight and a little baby bump started to form. I was ravenous. We hiked more and made progress on the big items in the nursery. We were half way! I was feeling very emotional during this time. I think some of it had to do with the weight gain/ not fitting into…

Weeks 13-16
Hello Second Trimester! It was time to get started on the nursery, think about my job options, settling in on a daycare, staying active, and making the registry. During this time I sat still and tried really hard to feel something, anything. This was a strange time for us as most days it seemed like we “forgot” I was pregnant. We no longer had a secret to keep. We felt like we knew what we needed to do, so we were not researching as much. We felt confident in our plans and let our minds focus on other things. This was a really fun time for us since it was…
